Cruisin' the Weekend Away, Part 1

I gotta say, the Gulf of Mexico is gorgeous. The water is so blue and brilliant when you get away from land. We had the time of our life on the the cruise. Being with my two best friends, my hubby and CraftyHope, made it the best trip EVER!!!! We took tons of pictures, but I haven't uploaded them to Flickr yet. I'll try to do that tomorrow night. Here's a synopsis of the trip:

Thursday: We boarded the boat in time for lunch. We went to the Lido Deck and enjoyed the buffet. We also bought a soda card and had our first alcoholic specialty drink of the weekend. We met a couple from St. Louis and talked to them. Around 1pm it was time to meet with the ladies from my Mardi Gras group to get our "goodie" bag. Once we had the bag we found my best friend and her mom. We were able to go to the cabin. We checked it out for a while. We were impressed at the the size. It was the size of a hotel room. Not really what I expected. Then we had the mandatory safety drill. Luckily Gabe only had his cell phone so the horrible picture in the life jacket will not be shared. We then returned to the cabin to relax then decided we wanted to witness entering the Gulf. Gabe took some gorgeous sunset pictures. We were close to the Ft. Morgan Peninsula. It was amazing. We went to a liquir tasting and purchased bottles of alcohol to bring home. We then had dinner in the dining room. The food was wonderful. The other people at our table did not show up so I kept teasing we were having a romantic dinner at a table set for 8.

This is going to take a while so I'll add more tomorrow. I'm exhausted from working both jobs today.

Return tomorrow for the continuing story.......
